Last week, Brandon had x-ray and MRI scans to check for lytic lesions caused by LCH. He had his last chemotherapy treatment August 4, 2008, and has been scanned ever 6 months since. We were told that if his scans are clear 6 months post treatment he has a 30% chance of LCH returning. If they are still clear 2 years post-treatment, that chance virtually drops to 0% recurrence, so were we VERY anxious about these particular scans. Dr. Wood called today with the results, and they are ALL CLEAR! His skull, brain and pituitary gland look perfect! We meet with his oncologists next week to discuss further testing for the future. He'll still be tested on a regular basis, just less frequently to decrease exposure to radiation.
