Brandon was scheduled for an MRI and x-ray as his one year follow-up. This was his eighth MRI in four years. His scans came back PERFECT! The radiologist reported: "The pituitary stalk is stable in appearance with normal enhancement characteristics. The brain signal patter is normal. There is no diffusion restriction, hemorrhage or fluid collection. There is no contract enhancing mass lesion. The cortical structure and myelination pattern are appropriate for age. The posterior fossa, sellar region and CP angle are also normal. The craniocervical junction is normal. The ventricles are normal. No abnormality of the orbits is detected. There is stable bilateral mastoid air cell disease and paranasal sinus disease changes. The mastoid air cells are clear. There are appropriate vascular flow-voids." The doctor reading his x-ray scan reported: "The lytic lesions previously present in the skull in the past are not visible today. No new abnormalities noted."This is the BEST news we've heard. It is such a relief! Brandon will see Dr. Wood for an examination in October and likely have repeat scans in December or January.
